May … the kickoff month to summer! In May, we honor mothers on a special Sunday. We celebrate Memorial Day, remembering those who died in the service of a nation. The Kentucky Derby, “the most exciting two minutes in sports”, is held on the first Saturday of this month. Cinco de Mayo, proms, graduations – all of these events take place in May. Heck, there’s even a day set aside to honor Blueberry Cheesecake (May 26th)!
On a more serious note, though, May has also been designated “Disability Insurance Awareness Month” by the Life Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to consumer education on financial security issues.
