About Physicians In Focus

September 28, 2010

We are the AMA Insurance Agency. Insuring physicians isn’t just our job; it’s our mission. Created exclusively to serve 1,000,000 American doctors and their families, our national reach, know-how, and leverage allow us to offer unique physician-focused coverage. It’s designed especially for the way you work and the way you live, at competitive rates from top-rated carriers. Our new blog will help address your needs with pertinent information for you and your medical practice. Welcome to the very first post of the AMA Insurance Agency blog!

It’s great coming to work as the President of the AMA Insurance Agency thinking that it isn’t something I have to do, but rather something that I get to do. When my web-obsessed coworkers recommended we begin a company blog, I jumped at the opportunity to draft the public voice and interact with physicians in a new medium.

Our Plans for the AMA Insurance Agency Blog

We have a lot planned for the upcoming year. Make sure to check back here for information about insurance and medical events (such as the upcoming Chicago Medical Society’s “Planning For Practice Transitions” seminar here in suburban Chicago September 29th), the latest online resources for you and your practice (including help with the insurance decision-making process based on your career stage), and guest posts from medical experts on a wide array of topics (e.g.: participating in Doctors Without Borders, Physicians using Social Media). Alternatively, take advantage of our RSS feed and subscribe to have blog posts sent directly to you.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month

Why are we starting a blog in September? It’s Life Insurance Awareness Month. We wanted to time our launch with the industry-wide effort, coordinated by the good people at the LIFE Foundation, to increase awareness of a growing national concern. Roughly 70 million adult Americans have no life insurance, and a majority of those who are covered have far less coverage than most financial experts recommend. Life insurance is absolutely critical to cover outstanding bills and provide financial security for your family in the event of a tragedy. For more information, visit the LIFE Foundation. And of course, for information about physician-specific Life Insurance, look no further. You’ve found the online home of the AMA Insurance Agency.

I’d love to hear your feedback. If there’s anything you’d like to know more about, or if you have any suggestions for our blog, please contact us.
