Here's help covering the costs that medicare does not pay

September 29, 2014

If you have recently applied for Medicare and would like help with costs not covered, take a look at the Medicare Supplement Insurance plans for physicians, sponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and underwritten by Transamerica Life Insurance Company (home office Cedar Rapids, Iowa). Because of your status as a physician, your parents and in-laws may also be eligible to apply, both for this group coverage and your Medicare Part D coverage.

As you know, Medicare was never designed to pay all health care costs. With deductibles and coinsurance, you still could be responsible for thousands of dollars a year in medical expenses out of your own pocket. That's money right out of your retirement savings. This is why having a Medicare Supplement plan can be an important financial strategy.

Choose from 10 standardized plans (in most states) depending upon your specific needs. All of these plans allow you to select your own doctors, specialists and hospitals that accept Medicare.

For more information on the AMA sponsored Medicare Supplement plans from Transamerica, contact AMA Insurance at 1-866-605-5708, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Or visit www.doctormedsupp.com.
