What is Term Life Insurance?

Term Life Insurance is simple, no-frills protection. You pay a premium, and in return have the comfort of knowing that if your loved ones were to unexpectedly lose you, they would receive financial help at this difficult time.

Am I eligible to enroll for this coverage?

Your acceptance is guaranteed if you are under age 40 and a full-time student of a medical school or an osteopathic medical school approved by an appropriate accrediting agency.

What if I already have life insurance?

The benefits provided by these plans are paid on top of any other insurance you have.

Do I have to take time for a medical exam to qualify for coverage?

No. There are no medical exams and no medical testing. Your acceptance is guaranteed if you are under 40 years of age and attending an approved medical school full time.

May I keep my coverage after I graduate?

Yes, you will have an opportunity to continue your coverage beyond graduation.

Can my spouse/domestic partner enroll for coverage?

Your eligible spouse or domestic partner under age 40 may enroll for the Term Life Insurance — whether you enroll or not.

When does my coverage become effective?

Your coverage will be effective on the first or fifteenth day of the month after receipt of your enrollment form, provided eligibility requirements are met and the premiums are paid when due.

What if I change my mind?

Once you receive your Certificate of Insurance you’ll have up to 30 days to review the plan at no obligation. If you decide you are not satisfied with your coverage, just cancel your enrollment, and you will receive a full refund of any premiums you have already paid — no questions asked. If you have not yet paid your first premium, no payment is due.
